Run and Talk

Join us - We welcome runners of all standards and suggest that people come along for a few weeks to see if they like it before actually joining. Just pick a session from below and turn up a few minutes early. Ask for Richard or Les and introduce yourself to a few people so we can make you feel more welcome.

Next on Thursday 10th October is World Mental Health Day. The theme of this year's event is suicide and suicide prevention. With this in mind, Bev and Nancy are organising a run/walk from the Pavilion starting at 6.30pm on 10th October. Please feel free to bring your partner, friends, families (and dogs) and maybe wear something green in support of mental health 💚 The Stable have very kindly agreed to us meeting up there after (top floor) for pizza and/or drinks so please bring some pennies if you'd like to join us.

There is a belief that when asked if we are OK, most people say they are fine when often they aren't. Learning to ask a little more or offer support can often be all that's needed to make a difference.

Every year close to 800,000 people globally take their own life and there are many more who attempt suicide. Every suicide is a tragedy that affects families, communities and has a long lasting affect on the people left behind. It's the leading cause of death among young people aged 20-34 years in the UK and is the second leading cause of death among 15-29 year olds globally.
